Raining here as well. After a look look thru the binocs , it appears to be about .30” so far.

Picked up a new to me varmit/plinking shooter, High Standard Longhorn.

It has 2 cylinders, one for 22lr & one for 22mag.

Is that a double action that looks like a single action?

It originally belonged to my son-in- laws grandfather. My SIL’s father offered it to me & I agreed without laying eyes in it.

I has more wear on the the blueing than what I thought was described but I should of eyeballed it first.

The funds are going to my SIL’s grandmother anyway.

I have always been a little leery of my SIL’s father about offering up things. A couple years ago he wanted to “bless” us ( yes his words ) with some deer meat that was taken from a hunting ground that I got permission for them to use. It was marked as being cut up 2 years prior, basically he was cleaning out the freezer to make room for the current stuff.

The dogs had deer loins for supper for a couple nights.

I digress, the High Standard should be fun to shoot, maybe I can find a place to mount a holster in the tractor & carry it in there.

Should be a fun piece. 👍

I keep thinking I need a 22 single action of some kind, my only complaint is they just feel kinda odd not having any recoil....I most generally miss my target with handguns, so I like some decent recoil as it makes me feel like something happened anyways.

I need to clean my grill mats, but we did a little freezer cleaning out today. Last of the ones in the freezer until tomorrow.

I was at the local Deere dealer today to get a couple replacement sockets for my box & saw they had a couple of the loaded 36” triangle boxes sitting out.

I was pondering getting one for my son but after being told the price, he can buy his own.

Around $2700, I paid about $1400 for mine in 20 or 21, I am still kicking myself for not buying one in 18 or 19 for $900.

A 3 piece set of fully hardened roller head pry bars with pointed ends was $230, I told him he had the wrong part #. I can get partially hardened set for like $50 but I have seen those crap the bed pretty quickly.

An equivalent set thru snap-on is around $300. I will check out Napa’s prices.

A few years ago I picked up a Heritage revolver from, of all places, a hardware store in Branson. They had a 4 foot section with a few handguns in it. 22 long rifle and 22 magnum interchangeable cylinders. Single action. I usually take it and a few 22 rifles with me when we go visit Rebekah and the kids. The boys are always wanting to do some plinking. James has a Henry lever action 22 that I’ve always admired so I had been wanting one since I saw his. Found one last year on sale at Bass Pro only it was a 22 magnum with octagonal barrel and bought it. When we were down there a few weeks ago (again out back plinking) he comes out with his latest acquisition. An AR15. Now he’s got me wanting one of those, too.
