My brother has diagnosis of "stress". He carries for postal. Since he's getting close to retirement he takes 2 sick days a week this year and plans on 3 sick days a week next year. On sick days taken he still is credited with the same hours of future sick day time and vacation time. Sick time accumulates with no limit, he's not been sick in his career, but it isn't paid time at retirement like vacation time. He talked about this more than 2 decades ago. Plans much better than meView attachment 427087

Took a friend out yesterday. Really need to get some jobs done at home, but sometimes this is more important. Been throwing back the channels since the blues have such nice white fillets. I should start telling them at work I need more mental health days.
Good morning.
Rain is alleged .....
Saw this fine handiwork along the road yesterday.......I guess I've been doing it all wrong....

That front cut looks like our secondary roads crew has been there cutting. They have been cutting like that for about 5 years, most are dead ash trees, I am still amazed that none of them have been hurt.Good morning.

The man knows how to catch fish......nevermind his claims of "dumb luck"......lol.I am thinking a fishing guide business is in your future. That is another nice haul.
I don't know how much the sloping back cut affects things, and weather positive or negative..... but regular sawchains sure cut better/faster at a 90° crosscut vs. cutting at an angle. That front cut looks like our secondary roads crew has been there cutting. They don’t notch or plunge cut, they just start at the back & cut until they get all the way thru or the tree barber chairs.I don't know how much the sloping back cut affects things, and weather positive or negative..... but regular sawchains sure cut better/faster at a 90° crosscut vs. cutting at an angle.
Amazing what some people get away with. They don’t notch or plunge cut, they just start at the back & cut until they get all the way thru or the tree barber chairs.
The worst part of that, is the fact they were doing it with ash trees..They don’t notch or plunge cut, they just start at the back & cut until they get all the way thru or the tree barber chairs.
As long as I have no plans made, I have no problem taking any of you out. I do it to relax.Tony,
One of these days I am going to make a reservation to come fish with you!
It's kind of like my baking, I want to do it because I enjoy it, not because it is a job.I am thinking a fishing guide business is in your future. That is another nice haul.
Sometimes. I still have my off days as well and am always learning. Guy from work and I went to Stockton on July 2 and didn't get but one keeper crappie. Shad were every where and they didn't have to look for food. Remembered last year about this time and found some smaller ones on shallow brush. Still had fun anyway. The man knows how to catch fish......nevermind his claims of "dumb luck"......lol.
Previous truck I was in had an 8.1 backed up with an Allison transmission. Got crushed earlier this year. When the repair costs hit a certain point they go away. I put about 320,000 miles on it. Sounded like it had glass packs on it. Everyone on the route knew when I was in the area.If I was tech savvy I would make a meme of how I envision @Only the Tony delivering packages in the big brown truck.
It would have the big brown truck floating on a lake with a trolling motor mounted out the back door & pulled up to a dock. Then him in the drivers seat with a fishing pole in his hand, trolling between stops.
Edit : The way the folks drive those brown trucks, there would have to be 250hp Evinrude or 2 hanging off the back also.
Lot of the township and County crews up here cut that way too. Crazy. Using a wedge to tip one over could be a disaster as that back taper can break. All bets are off then. The worst part of that, is the fact they were doing it with ash trees..
Those things can just break!
With little warning.
The CIY conference had these books available. The books are a 21 day challenge. We bought one for all the kids. The challenge consists of 3 daily (one minute) prayers while kneeling, 2 scripture readings, 21 minute walk, journaling, and guess what else....90 minutes of social media/video games per week; 15 minutes per day with one day of no social media or video games!!! There are some other things we have to do, such as: write 3 letters to people the first week, have a meal with somebody, acts of service, etc.Tell them to un plug... no phone for 3 months..
Thank me later..
