Good morning y'all
That will look nice wrapping around her.
Missing the dwellings is always a plus! What length bar is that saw using? Did you do your own port work? I'd like to learn how. I'd be scared to try it on a fine saw like that until I learned on some lesser saws.Evenin,
Kinda hot-ish today.
Got the dead oak down...... even missed the building.
Ported 372 FTW.

It's got some blue staining near the heart, so it might ruin my day when I get it on the mill.... but it is a nice solid log.Good oak.
Looks solid.
It is not pin or red. It definitely looks like some species of white oak, maybe Burr. Big man will probably know...It's got some blue staining near the heart, so it might ruin my day when I get it on the mill.... but it is a nice solid log.
I'm thinking it's Pin or Chestnut oak..... it's not red, white, or post oak.
Very nice, the truck ain't so bad either...

Those are the ones that make those great big acorns.
Matt has lots of experience with the Oaks down there, maybe the Burs grow differently in certain areas.
There's a live one near by, I'll shoot a pic of the leaves today.
