65cc is gooder than 56cc. .325” x 18”, 8 tooth drive drum.

Noodles green oak well.

Got about one tank thru him.

Never gave it ‘The Dip’, it was that clean from the get go.
Best thing one can do to a 290 is turn it into a 390.
(And then sell it, they bring good money).
I had a 390 once. Cut really well with a muffler mod. Put it on marketplace and sold it in 12 hrs. It paid for a bunch of truck parts.

I built a 290/390 with a MM and advanced the timing. The thing cut even up with the 036 that I had. I ended up giving it to a friend whose garage had burned and lost his saws in the process.

They are funny saws..

I’ve had a hundred of those farm boss variants through the shop for various issues. Some just have more comp and run better than others.
Best one so far was an 029 super. “I didn’t even know that was a thing”, but it ended up pretty sporty once it’s issues were fixed.
