2x6’s and 2x10’s for the new steer pen.
I got a 5 gallon bucket of black paint. We’ll see how long these will last out in the weather once painted.
Bet it’s as long as treated crap..
What flavor of oak?View attachment 397585
Got started on some oak last night.
5/4” trailer floor boards. It’s just a 12’ single axle trailer. I was worried 2” oak might add too much weight for an oversized lawn mower trailer.
It depends on what it's going to be used for.@Sawdust Man

When you guys cut saw logs to be milled how much additional length do you leave for shrinkage, trim to final length etc?
Not when I’m using it..What flavor of oak?
You don't have a roof over the mill?
Boards will shrink by width and thickness, but the length doesn’t really change. About 6 inches of extra length on a log is good enough for and trimming.@Sawdust Man
