Evening folks.

Nice working weather today.

Hauled five loads of logs home today.... probably at least that many still to haul, plus more dead trees that need cut.

Most of what I hauled today is just firewood grade stuff, but there were a few good sawlogs there.

In that first pic, do you back up to that pole and drag the logs off with a chain; driving out from under them (the logs)?

Yessir.
Chained em off to that oak stump, put it in 4-L and drove away (with a couple little jerks to get em sliding).....if I only had more stumps in the correct places I'd be good.

Anybody want to estimate firewood volume (after cutting/splitting) on one of those trailer loads...

The deck is 7' wide, I'm usually around 4' high in the middle, and average of 12' long.

I'm guessing 1.5 to 2.0 cords.....the weight feels about like that.

By weight, a cord of oak should be 5500 pounds fresh split.

A little less when seasoned..
