@Sawdust Man , Has the temps been typical this year.
Probably about normal I think, but I've only been here three summers now so definitely not an authority on misery's weather.
Seems like maybe it's a tiny bit less hot on average than the last two summers.... maybe...

Morning fellas. Well, we got another 1.30" last night and .65" 5, or 6, days ago. Basically 2 inches in the past week.

Woke up to 65 degrees this AM and the forecast shows 80's for awhile. Hopefully, we're past the 90 and 100 degree stuff, even though it's been a pretty mild summer, compared to normal.

Had some wild wind storms and lots of hail at the guy I contract to's farm a week ago (about 15 miles from town). Several pivots overturned, roofs ripped off several buildings and lots of crops beat down to nothing.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

IMG_20230804_091424.jpg

Tom and me sawed up 100 of them dinky logs today...took about 8 hours...IMG_20230804_173000.jpgIMG_20230804_173006.jpgIMG_20230804_173057.jpg

Oh, I wish I had an edger...... it'll take a full day to edge it all on the mill.....(we cut about half the logs today).

Hit 105F here today. Brown trucks get a little hot on the inside.
Horrible.

No ac I s'pose...

It peaked at 98ish here, but the humidity is off the chart today..... maybe because we got about 20 minutes of light vertical rain this morning.

It’s probably Ferguson gray.

The brown trucks around here just have 255 ac’s in them or should I say 265 or 275. They haul arse here, it wasn’t unusual to see our previous driver passing troopers & deputies.

Our current driver said he got scolded for moving in the gas pump line without having his seatbelt on, apparently they have all kinds of monitors for stuff, apparently they don’t care about speeding though.

Is that gray or white?

Btw Steve, there's a place online called "yesterday's tractor" they have all kinds of parts for the old Ferguson tractors.
That is actually Ford light grey. Tractor Supply doesn’t have Ferguson grey although they are probably the same.

Don't want AC anyway. You get acclimatized to the heat and going back and forth from AC to the heat will just make you sick. Get the job done and then worry about the cool down.

Well then I guess I've never been in the heat long enough, because I'm definitely not acclimated.
I start feeling sick after a few hours if I don't get in the ac and cool down.....but I'm not a native to the area, so maybe my genes aren't programmed for the heat...idk...

It impresses me how the locals are so much more unaffected by the heat than us implants.... some locals even seem to like it....but to me it's pure torment....
I think part of my problem is that I haven't learned to move slowly and place myself like a proper hillbilly, I still work like the devil's after me....

Prolly I'm just a heat wimp...lol.
