A friend of mine has an insurance agency; he is not my agent. I called and asked him if rates were going up. His words, "Yep, major increase. Unprecedented!" He said he was calling clients and warning them; he told me he had 3 appointments with clients the next day to discuss it. I told him, "At least you give them a lube before they get bent over..."

We are getting it from all angles; it is everything from gas, groceries, property taxes, real estate, lumber, etc....
You can thank the swamp in Washington

Good morning!
Picked up a big Homelite this week. 21.2 cu in (347cc) 5000 watt generator. It's from the late 40's or early 50's. The output from the cooling fan for the armature and engine will about blow you over when you walk by it with it running. Morning fellas.

Well we finally got a bit of rain, but it was pretty spotty. We only got .75" through 2 1/2 weeks here, but it's better than nothing. That little bit was the deciding factor on whether or not guys planted crops or not. Several people are letting things sit till fall. Not even enough moisture to get things going in a lot of places.

I'll be really curious to see what happens with herd sizes this year. There's several guys who lost out on pastures, because the landowners don't want anything on them this year, so they can recover from last year. Others have had to pull back the number they put out per pasture, because of how short the grass is yet. Gona be a lot of pairs for sale directly.

We got half the trusses down from the chicken barn salvage job.
If anyone starts thinking about doing this, look real close at all the *s-word that’s nailed or screwed to those trusses..

Suddenly,, $300 per truss seems like money well spent..

Levi and his bargains.

Been there done that....
I just build my own trusses now.

I guess that's about the one good thing about how dry it is out here, our humidity isn't that bad compared to you fellers east. It's been 80's the last few days, but our nights are still getting down to upper 40's to low 50's. Right now our humidity is 8%. Lol

Good evening!
Got to spend a little time running saws today.
It was cleanup day at Camp Joy Bible camp down by Ava, MO.
Cut a oak stump off at the ground with woven wire through it. It was big enough that my 28" bar didn't reach all the way through. The chain still cut reasonably well even after the wire.
I took some time to sharpen a few chains this evening on the Simington. I have been really happy with the square ground chains.

Sounds like a good day.....
That's just down the road from where we're getting all the pine logs.
