That’s impressive! How much wood has been ran thru it at this point?

I can only guess at it... proabably a little less than half of a face cord. The pieces are around 18" long.
I felt like it has been reasonable in the amount of wood it burns.

That jogged my memory of a tale told to me by Bob. (Barbara’s BFF’s husband the mailman.)

He noticed an old lady on his route had a huge pile of rectangular walnut shorts on her front porch. Asked what she did with them. She told him she burned them in her small wood stove and a grandson got them from Missouri Valley Walnut.

What they actually were was blanks for turning pump gun fore-ends.

Back in the day Walnut Log or Missouri Valley Walnut was a huge gun stock blank maker. Big enuf to supply the Rockford Army arsenal and such.

Now days they do veneer or ship logs to Asia.

Evening everybody.
Was a beautiful day here in the middle of nowhere.
Got the the firewood cut, the brakes fixed, and oil changed.... but I needed another u joint, so I get to wrench some more tomorrow.

Ended up not needing to replace any of the rotors, and found a set of pads left over from the last brake job I did, so I got to return $400 in parts.

I saw on the news Sioux Falls travel is not recommended

Sent from the Hoskey Hills

They was guessing at between 1/4”-1/2” of ice from Norfolk,NE - Sioux City - Storm Lake & heavy snow back to the NW.

I would say that @I saw a lot is right in the worst of it.

@I saw a lot

What is your job that has you working in that location?

It was to install switches and VOIP phones for a government agency. Got to the hotel had to help co-worker get unstuck. After a couple of hours, we found out the entire job was put on hold due to funding and the fact it is a new fiscal year. My co-worker chose to stay but I high tailed it back to Omaha. I so hate contract work like that, but at least back home.
