6 years ago 10 foot white oak log showed up in yard waste dump. Stump was 42" x 38" about 35" diameter topside. If I had a trailer etc. it wood have gone up to stave making company near I44 mid state. They buy only clear off stump @ $ 1 bf, IIRC. Maybe....my rule of thumb is, any visible defect on the outside of a log will probably be worse inside...I am debating if this log would be a good saw log. Lots of twist at the base.
