That is a sweet saw Steve has :)
Yes. Yes it is. I ran it a little and the throttle response is as good as I've ever seen. Cuts smooth and very strong.

He came down to visit and trade. Ended up leaving with a lighter wallet, some project saws and a fair load of seasoned walnut. He was smiling a lot.

Had a little excitement around here this morning. The landlords son leases all the land around my house and decided he was gonna burn the field right next to and around my house and garage FULL of saws! He only caught the chicken barn and a couple piles of old logs on fire, almost got into my pile of old mowers and I had to fight it out all the way around the garage. Man I'm beat! Here's the chicken barn up in flames!

Is he going to help you build a new one? Crap happens but a lack of a good faith/compensatory gesture would rankle me more than a bit...

Had the best time today down at Marc's place. Sure wasn't expecting to come home with a load of dry wood either. Took the 390xp along, mainly to show it to Marc. Wound up running a tank of gas through it. It's almost broke in now, Alan. :)

I know Marc is just itching about this, so I'll just get it out into the open.
After we had loaded up and were heading back to his house, we were about a mile from where we cut at and I remembered something. Or rather, something I forgot to put in my truck.
The 390XP.
Holy CRAP!!!! Panic ensued. Cold sweats! Peeing my pants. Wife called Marc on the phone while I'm setting land speed records in reverse. I knew in my heart that everything was going to be fine, but I've never done this before. Seemed to take forever to get back to the field, but there it was. Just where I left it. It looked so lonesome sitting there. The sun was shining on it and it was saying, "Daddy, I'm here". Never felt like such a heel in my whole life. Except when I admitted I don't like like black coffee.

Mason worked hard today, we kept on with a few projects after Steve and Goldie left. He got hungry and it was just the two of us for supper. He was kind of disappointed that we were out of hamburger but settled for some steak.

He ate one half of this of this with some corn. Yes, that is a full size dinner plate.

You guys did better than me today . I was fighting ice and slick snow pack while loading logs. Bent the log grapple up. Got some metal work to do. Didn't help pulling 30 ft x 2 ft cottonwood trunks yesterday. The hardened shaft gave out on a small piece today. Time for a 1-1/4 inch shaft to replace the 1 inch shaft.
