"Nestled in the foothills of the Kiamichi Mountains, this rural community of nearly five thousand, ranks as a top contender for a place to live and raise children, as well as a major tourist area."

One of my good friends when I was in college was born in Broken Bow. Hot and humid summers are not uncommon, but that is true of many cities in this region.

Yeah, I'm far enough west I miss out on a lot of the humidity. I lived outside of Hastings Nebraska for a year and swore I'd never live somewhere that humid again.

Ironically, when I was a teen, I visited Georgia and for a decade I wanted to move there, till I lived by Hastings. That cured that itch. Lol

I was way off on where Broken Bow is. I thought it was quite a bit west. The coming days sound like they're going to be miserable. Stay cool.
18 miles from Arkansas
25 from texass

We have alligator, cypress, and tons of duckweed

We have had a shower but no idea how much, I will look in the morning. Looks like you have another round heading your way.
We’re ready for another round.

But the soil profile in the corn field is pretty good right now. The phase it’s in used .2” of available water a day. So 1.7” is going fast!! Hope the roots were able to tap a little deeper!

Showers moved through. Lots of guys spraying wheat for weeds. Throwing good money after bad sometimes.
If ya want to get a crop off late, sometimes ya gotta spray roundup and kill the weeds so you can get the wheat to run through the combine..

Combine no likey green weeds...

Was thinking about trying this on 10 acres..

Anyone got a neighbor using this method?

Lots of guys here use a system similar, but not permanent. Rows, pipes, and plastic cover.

That looks like a great idea for no till.

I have read about guys burying this stuff is deep ias 20 inches and carrying on normal deep tillage.
And no till both.
I think the winner of the national yield contest last year utilized it or a system similar.

I'd give it a try if you have the soil for it. Seems like a great system.

I’ve heard of 400 + bushel corn grown on this type of system.. just not sure I want to invest the $2000 per acre to see if it’s all that and a bag of chips..

Thinking bout it..
