My daughter said that just popped up on her facebook this morning. Why it would show up on her facebook when she is in Georgia & that was in Minnesnowda, I have no idea.

Well, I've decided to just rebuild the engibe in the new to me Van. Ford V10 will be a new experience for me. Fortunately I have Ford technical knowledge in the family.
It'll have to get a crankshaft. #1 journal is toast.
Been dealing with O'Reilly to get a reconditioned one and after all said and done it was going to run me about $425. My son did some checking at the parts dept where he works. They've ordered me a brand new crankshaft. $500.
I'm sure most of you are familiar with TTY head bolts. But these Triton engines also use them on the main bearing caps and the connecting rod caps and I can't find them aftermarket. Fortunately Ford has them in stock and not bad on the price either.
I'd say the V10 is a pretty decent engine, too. This one has got 438k miles in it and still ran smooth even with a loose rod.
So now the fun begins.
:)

My uncle had one in motor home
Kept blowing exhaust manifold gaskets
I told him to put headers on it and dual exhaust. No problem after that

Uneven expansion of the ex manifolds I seem to recall, was the issue.

Steve, get on some of the v10 lovers forums..
They know every trick in the book.

Friend has a ms250 , had it several years but is rarely used.

He has *b-worded about it from day one ,

Hard to start , he's taken it back several times to dealer he purchased it from, they tell him it's the way he's starting it , bla bla bla

I've told him for years it was a saw problem, he finally brought it to me , I found wonky zama carb , and vent line pinched from factory.

Put a 14 dollar Chicom carb on it , fixed vent , gut muffler,

Guess what...

Runs GREAT ....

I told him to take it to his dealership and force feed that Zama to his ass..

No idea what the temp or humidity is here but I am on my 2nd set of clothes for day & contemplating on a third change of shirts. Working up a couple of Sugar Maples at my aunts house in town, the neighbor to the south had a flag that was blowing to the north & the two neighbors to the north had flags blowing to west; all flags indicating stiff breezes. At my aunts place there wasn’t even a hint of moving air.

Held one li
Ordered this for a customer. Ms 881 with a 59 inch bar. Paid and out the door this morning.
Held one like that, light bar that wiggled as fly rods may on occasion. Believe my ported 661 will out preform that bigger displacement my 60" bar mounted against the 881 59". Have heard the 880/881 called doggy. I know mufmod helps all the epa power heads but haven't heard any thing all that positive. But 60" milling maple couple years ago when the PH broke in and started singing:campeon: o20190515_134709.jpg

Here’s my firewood score for the day, I will split out the good stuff & toss the rest in the burn pile. I contemplated joining the bovines in the pool but decided against it.
