I repaired 2 race chains yesterday..
1 mine.. 1 for someone else..

Since I’ve employed reading glasses, the results have been much better..

Had a guy approach me today to mill some hedge trees..

I think he could tell by the look on my face it was gonna be a bad experience for all involved..

But I told him we could make the attempt..

Mine has still turned out good.
It's grey now. Kinda like me.

Found a good little Italian joint called fat olives. Def a must see. It was on diners drive in and dives on food network. I must say I’m impressed. Unlike any pizza I’ve ever had. Now to scrounge the local pawn shops and market place to see what deals can be had!

That looks about the pizza at il lazzarone, Neopolitan type. It is my favorite pizza. There is one in KC & one in @67L36Driver stomping grounds.

Matt, with your experiences, I'd tell him he must cover any broken bands. Just recalling Kyle's saw picking up a 18" dia stick of firewood he had noodled a 1/3 the way thru when it locked up on the chain and bar. Back when we made that stack of firewood for your sister.

Well stopped in flagstaff for the night. Going to Phoenix tomorrow then to the Grand Canyon. I was disappointed with New Mexico. There is even less there than Kansas! Lol!

Wire Rope supplied the drag and hoist ropes IIRC.

Reels went from the closing machine to flatcar.

Way too large for trucks.

And the Big Musky dragline in Minnesota I think.

Real fun part was putting on spelter sockets on the ends and pre stretching the rope assembly.

Saves adjustment and down time when changing out at the machine.
