We r on our way to the Grand Canyon and Vegas for our anniversary. Took 12 days off. Around Clinton Oklahoma right now. Gonna try to make it to Amarillo tx tonight. Bout another 2 hrs to go. Never been to the south west before.

I remember watching the 10:00 news on night and they said the current temp in Phoenix was 105 at 9pm.
AT 9PM!!!
105 DEGREES!!!
Oh, but it's a dry heat they say.
Dry heat my a$$. So is the oven in my kitchen and I don't live in that thing because ITS HOT!
I just don't understand why folks live out there.

AT 9PM!!!
105 DEGREES!!!
Oh, but it's a dry heat they say.
Dry heat my a$$. So is the oven in my kitchen and I don't live in that thing because ITS HOT!
I just don't understand why folks live out there.

Was there in Phoenix outside the airplane on the tarmac 115° @ 6% humidity. Gotta inhale water with salt tablets. It seemed more comfy than Missouri with 85 ° and 90% humid for 12 or so minutes before going back up the steps with white powder on my arms. That's why salt tabs

^^^^this. 105 in Phoenix is more comfortable and less miserable than 85 with high humidity. It’s still hot though.

I remember a couple years ago, it was over 107 for a week straight here..
Was 90 by 9:00 AM.. had to go cut a tractor bucket load at a time.. it was so hot, the chiggers quit biting..

Milled up some Ponderosa Pine today that was bark beetle killed, nothing spectacular but it will make lumber; I hope.

Well stopped in flagstaff for the night. Going to Phoenix tomorrow then to the Grand Canyon. I was disappointed with New Mexico. There is even less there than Kansas! Lol!

Had a guy approach me today to mill some hedge trees..

I think he could tell by the look on my face it was gonna be a bad experience for all involved..

But I told him we could make the attempt..
