Evening everybody.
I had an extraordinary afternoon today. I spent it with my nephew deer hunting. To be clear, I didn't do anything myself. No gun with me, no hunting license, no deer tag. I was a casual observer. We got to his blind about 1:30.
Then the waiting began. But we also got to do a lot of talking and I enjoyed that.
About 4:30 the deer started coming out. Counted 9 total in the field, half of them younger ones.
At least they were smaller so I presumed younger. Had to be careful of shooting lanes because of nearby roads/hiway.
The planet's finally came into alignment and in a 5 minute time span 2 big does and a 9 point buck were on the ground. Talk about an exhilarating experience. When time permits, I have to get one of my own now.

4 so far here..
3 off the spawning ground to our north.
Neighbors to the west have removed 6 so far, and probably wounded another half dozen.. lol
Need about 15 more to go, but all the boys want to shoot is bucks. I keep telling them those bucks don’t have babies. Duh!!

Morning all! Heading to a neighbors to clean up a bunch of tree limbs, for easier mowing. Should be interesting. Also may take a swing at picking up an old McCulloch that's there. I don't remember the model, but almost as big as a 797 an I believe it's a 1-8x or so?

Got it going after dark so was unable to tune it but it was on ‘high’ and oils like the Exxon Valdez.

Why oh why didn’t I check the fuel inlet screen before I installed the carb? [emoji37] one screw and ten minutes would have avoided a ‘do over’.

It’s a shame that a lot folks around here are leasing out & all those folks just want a wall mount.

That's the same thing that's happening out here. We had a couple outfits from the KC area come out here a decade or so ago and paid crazy prices to lease ground. Most farmers wouldn't pass it up, so now most ground around here is leased. Which kills opportunity for us local guys. Even worse yet, we had a guy who works for an outfitter, that stretches from northern Nebraska, to the Oklahoma panhandle, move into town and he's leasing whatever ground isn't leased already. When people pay however much for a hunt, all they like is trophies.
