Well this came home yesterday. Gonna start breaking it in on this pile. Gotta get some cut and split for mom and dad to have a fire.

Yeah, sounds to me like he's trained alright.
So many idiots think they're experts on everything. When I was in the auto industry I used to hear that on a daily basis as I'm sure has Steve.

I has a lady come in one day, years ago, that had bought a set of tires from us. She had a flat from a nail in the tread. She said the tires were junk because a nail went through it.
I looked her straight in the face and said, "Well Ma'am, they are made of rubber after all. "

Trust me, i get so many "experts" in the saw shop its ridiculous. Had a ts 700 chop saw yesterday that the customer had taken to another shop twice, and it still wouldnt run right. Among other things, they had left the air intake tubes loose, and tried to make a throttle linkage out of a paper clip! Charged him good money for that mess too!

Hope it's not because they are junk.
I can assure you, they don’t last as long as we would like..
There are a few things you can do to extend the life of them. But they are still going to let you down eventually.. It’s always best to just find a cheap supply of new ones. LOL
I guess they can fatigue also. Eventually breaking..
The idea is to keep them cool and clean.. and don’t hit stones in the bark, or remove the bark on the entry side when cracking into a new log.
