Taking 25 bushel per acre less yield just for better dove hunting?

Nice!!

That's hard core right there..
It's a national holiday round here. And they unusually only do smaller fields like that around 25-200 acres. Depending on the farmer.

Plus all the tags and licences and now you have to use steel shot.
They're spendy little missle's they are.
But fun to shoot.
I'd honestly have to say I've never bought a license for dove though.
More of a "target of opportunity"..

Hers a couple pics of our feed. We always cook them for lunch on opening morning. Had Turkey and duck as well this year.

If we had to survive on the ones I shot, we'd all starve to death probably.

That's a lot of speed birds right there..

Well around these parts that would cover most of the fields

I remember, when I was on a wheat harvest crew in 1976, we were cutting 1 field of wheat (the first time I've run a combine) just over the Oklahoma line. A 200 acre field. It dawned on me that this one field, this farmer owned, was bigger than my Grandparents entire farm. (80 acres). They had 1 hay field behind the barn that was 5 acres. They'd get about 200 bales each cutting. 2 cuttings a year.
Those were good times, mainly because I was too young to help, so I got to ride on the tractor.

Who cleans em and removes all the feather filled shot holes??
We all do. And we breast them out on the bone then soak in ice water then filet the meat off the breast bone. No feathers to deal with by that point.
