Good morning rained here about 4 this morning.

Pulled Levi’s tractor out yesterday to work on the hubs, but when we went to start it, and back it up on a block of wood to mount the duals, we got nuthing..

NOTHING....

No click
No crank
No buzz

Just silence...

The starter is a new gear reduced starter.

Battery is new, but with all the light hooking up and testing we been doing, voltage could have dropped.

We hooked cables up to the starter direct and it spins, but won’t throw the bendix.

Just exactly how are these gear reduced starters designed to work?

Levi is scrubbing the tires as we speak..

It’s finally ready for the fair.

After the fair, we got a compression fitting to fix on the hydraulic line that goes to the cooler from back to front.

I think it gives the tractor character but depending on the judges you get, some will scoff at it others will see it as character or that’s been my experience on stuff like that. Then there is “Owner Preference” it’s mine this is how I want it & that little thing will be like a steel sliver on a nerve ending & keeping you awake at night & pissing you off every time you see it until it’s right in your eyes.

Seems some gear reduced starters if the battery gets low, function like a lithium ion drill...

Works 100% awesome till the solenoid says GFY..

Not giving me enough volts..

When it does that, you get nuthin.. no click, slower crank, no nuthin.. just silence.

Seems the solenoid actuated an arm that throws the bendix.. so there is no jumping terminals if solenoid ain’t getting its voltage it likes or if it’s defective..
