Got some sad news this morning.
Cousins are like brothers/sisters. Only better.
My cousin, Cliff passed away early this morning. 59 years old. 3 years younger than me. We used to hang out a lot together when we were in our 20's. That's when I moved down to this area and we started hanging around. He used to work on a Dairy farm here locally and I would go over there early Sunday mornings and hang around/help out. I was the "city kid", he was raised more country. Technically you could say he was a city kid too. But he was raised a little further from downtown where I was Definatly the urban raised one. But we had good times. As always happens, life got in the way and we drifted apart. Each raising our own families.
About 4 years ago we made contact again. You know when you lose contact with a good friend, only to meet up later in life and just pick up where things left off? Like nothing ever happened? That was us. Only 35-40 years older, and wiser. Now we would just sit and talk and remember stupid stuff we did together when we were younger. He had horses and took me riding at Wilson's Creek Battlefield a couple of years ago, (I realised then why I don't have a horse, couldn't hardly walk for 2 days. ) But it was fun.
He went into hospice care about 2 weeks ago. I won't go into details, other than to say his liver failed because of a poor choice in life. While we weren't terribly close, this time around, I will miss him.
Sorry for your loss.
Death sucks and will get his just rewards

Just took a shower in saw chips.

Not very elegant but it works for tuning purposes.

Converting it to front adjust screw/dog was a bust. [emoji90] Broke thru to the oil tank with our pilot hole.

Had to plug it with a 6-32 machine screw and gasket goo.

Rained yesterday and raining today. At least the flood levels are way down, talk about a nasty, stinky mess...
Flood waters appear to be receding on the east side of I-29 south of Council Bluffs. It just smells like a huge open septic tank & only going to get worse as waters recede.

And just think some are kicking around the idea to build a 370 mile pipeline climbing 1800" to capture that funky water and send it to western Kansas

500 million a year just in energy costs alone. Now I'm not one to get in someone's business but maybe western Kansas farmers should find a less thirsty crop to grow?
There are pump designs, dating back a few thousand years, that use the power of the flowing water to pump high enough that gravity takes it thru the pipe. With my creek I've looked at them.
