All of Dad & my brothers corn was yellow when I looked at it Saturday, the last few warmer days should help it substantially & a spot of drier weather as well.

It was a bit toasty today under the trailer fixing some wires. Gotta love asphalt....

MA270/271 engine R & R.

There is no way to wiggle the cylinder down over the piston with the crank in the chassis.

You have to remove the flywheel side oil tank cover.

There that SOB is.

Stihl not easy dropping in the engine.

Did I get sealer in the right places?
Are the crank seals crooked?
Did I break a ring?

No way to see. [emoji90]

Cover back on.

Formed ‘O’ ring material seals the tank................Maybe......

Got some sad news this morning.
Cousins are like brothers/sisters. Only better.
My cousin, Cliff passed away early this morning. 59 years old. 3 years younger than me. We used to hang out a lot together when we were in our 20's. That's when I moved down to this area and we started hanging around. He used to work on a Dairy farm here locally and I would go over there early Sunday mornings and hang around/help out. I was the "city kid", he was raised more country. Technically you could say he was a city kid too. But he was raised a little further from downtown where I was Definatly the urban raised one. But we had good times. As always happens, life got in the way and we drifted apart. Each raising our own families.
About 4 years ago we made contact again. You know when you lose contact with a good friend, only to meet up later in life and just pick up where things left off? Like nothing ever happened? That was us. Only 35-40 years older, and wiser. Now we would just sit and talk and remember stupid stuff we did together when we were younger. He had horses and took me riding at Wilson's Creek Battlefield a couple of years ago, (I realised then why I don't have a horse, couldn't hardly walk for 2 days. ) But it was fun.
He went into hospice care about 2 weeks ago. I won't go into details, other than to say his liver failed because of a poor choice in life. While we weren't terribly close, this time around, I will miss him.
