Hi Guys, looking for opinions. I'm rebuilding an 066 that's presold to a logger I know. Saw wasn't run much and looks great. Unfortunately, it was run with a bad pto seal and ruined the piston and cylinder.
Ok, so new seals, rebuild the carb, fuel filter, Check the lines. New cylinder kit. Here's the question. I'm torn between a meteor brand, that I've used before and always had great luck with, and the cross mastermind cylinder that definitive Dave sells.
Have any of you used the cross cylinder? What was your experience? This saw will get worked, so it HAS to hold up. The extra performance would be nice, but durability is a must. What do ya think???
Did the cylinder “really” get ruined?
Sometimes, they look bad, but really ain’t.
Once the aluminum transfer is gone.

Morning midlanders!

I’m starting to think the SEZ timing is way late or the reeds are standing open.

Run at an idle at low open 3/4-1. Anything more and it loads up dies. Dies when you open the throttle regardless.

I had lots of the same trouble with my SEZ until I realized that the new kit's metering diaphragm had a button on it that was to engage the metering lever. And, for some reason, I didn't have the lever with the forked end so ended up grinding the button off the diaphragm and life got instantly better.

Most of my lessons come the hard way!!:rolleyes:

Couldn't believe it when I saw that receipt. Brookfield is right up the road from where my wife's Grandmother lived.

Yup, 96 miles east on 36 would get me there.

Points were at a tight .015” and dirty. Now, a loose .017” and clean.

Give it a tad bit advance.

Johns business card is good for cleaning points. [emoji56]

Thanks John!
