Morning all. Going to be hot for sure today.
71° 99% humidity wet ground/grass from last night rain. Glad I'm retired! Skies clear with hot sun will have us in this area swimming in our own sweat unlessIMG_20180613_152835.jpgyou can hit the kitchen window with a wet rock from here!

When they are low they want to freeze. Try running it with out the filter to maximum air flow over the coil. I know it sounds dumb but I've seen it work.
Very true.
Low Freon can cause them to freeze up. And if it's low, there's a leak that needs fixing. So can low air flow (dirty filter).

Morning everybody .

Someone skimmed my credit card again.

Someone tried to charge $100 to it at Grain Valley, Mo. yesterday.

I ain’t been near there.

Bank caught it again. [emoji108]

New card be here Monday.
If people would work half as hard at getting and keeping a job as they do at stealing from others, this world would be a different place!

Chest freezer died this week, so had to move in a used True 3 door freezer that I've had stored for a few years. Installed new door seals and added just a few ounces of 409a to try to get it to cool properly... I wish I could remember more of the refrigeration stuff I learned...
High and low side are both a little high (300 and 20) with 13 degrees of superheat. I am not sure what to do with it. I just hope the capillary tube isn't restricted with wax.

Edit:
This is at 85 deg ambient, and -5 interior.
It runs for 30 minutes, and kicks off. Its off for about a minute, and then kicks back on.

That's happened to me and the wife the past year. Twice. Thankfully the bank has caught that stuff .

My central air has froze up the evaporator a couple of times lately.
Been looking into prices to replace the whole shebang. Furnace and all. Not liking what I'm seeing. Looking at doing it all myself, still not liking prices. So, we're discussing options and I get curious and punch into eBay "R22".
Lo and behold I've got a 30lb drum will be here the 3rd. Decided since I've got most of the other stuff to do my own a/C work (gauges, vacuum pump, brazing equipment, etc.) I sprung for a used reclamation pump, reclaim tank, another set of gauges and electronic scales to weigh in Freon. I figure I can keep mine and my daughter's going for several more years .
