Don’t count on them knowing *s-word..

On that 2500, you want as much tongue weight as you can get.
Get that weight on the tow vehicle as you can.
You will have more control.

Yes.

I really like the spring strength on the Chevy trucks. Supposedly they offset the spring shackles or something that makes them not squat much. Im not sure what they do but it seems to work out well. Maybe 1” squat yesterday with that load

It sure is, and the air conditioning in the house went out yesterday. Going to call my repair guy this morning early. Hope it's something he can fix FAST!

Is the ac fixed?

No...bad news there. Last spring I had a raccoon get in the attic. Apparently he tore up some of the duct work. The central unit is putting out cold air, but it's not getting into the house. Attics cooler than you'd expect though. Also, in tracking down the problem, he found that the compressor is getting worn out. Big yikes on that one.
Anyway coming in the morning to replace duct work. Will just run the unit for now.

Well that sounds better than waiting for who know how long to get a new unit.

I'm curious, Russell. How did he arrive that the compressor is worn out?

Good point Steve. Correct me if I'm wrong but they either run or don't run.
True. Generally they are either good electrically/ mechanically or bad in one of those areas. A lot of things can happen to a compressor and the unit won't work anymore. But if its cooling, and cooling adequately , I'd run it . Worst it can do is break. I'd be curious to see gauge readings and amp draw .

I dont know much but I do know when the ones at work were about to give up the ghost it kept kicking off cause of "high head pressure". And we had sprinklers on then to keep them going until 2 years later the owner finally replaced them.

Now bear in mind I know nothing about heat and air. Something to do with suction pressure being too high and with it running it wasn't putting out a lot of heat. Sounded a little iffy to me.

Probably just wants all the R22 out of your old unit cause that stuff is worth its weight in gold from what I've heard and then sell you a new unit.

I'd get a second opinion just cuz. I wish you were closer, the old guy I use is awesome. I called him on a Friday to set up an appt ( I had low freon) he said see you tomorrow. I told him I'm working so he said see you Sunday.

And I guess he might not be that old at 70 something.

Without seeing it myself, it could simply be overcharged. Refrigeration works in a narrow band. Too little it won't cool, too much it won't cool.
But pressures are critical. I'm guessing it's an r22 system, most are, still .
A day like today high side will run upwards of 275lbs, maybe a touch more .Low side should be within 60-70lbs. I like closer to 70 .

I'm definitely going to run it. Sure don't have the cash on hand to replace that right now. It will work till it wont.

It's never been recharged, so I'm pretty sure it couldn't be over charged. I thought maybe it needed charged when it messed up. Those sound pretty close to the pressures he was talking about. I'm starting to wonder how bad it is, if it's bad at all.

When we built our house the AC unit was 11 months and two weeks old. It crapped the bed eleven months later. Lennox tried to claim it was past the one year warranty. Wrong I tell them, it was nearly a year old when put in service. All I had to pay was the install. [emoji106]

Big mofo it was, two speed comp to cool 1800 sq ft.

The biggest thing on ANY Air conditioner is make sure the evaporator coil and the condenser coil are clean.

When they are low they want to freeze. Try running it with out the filter to maximum air flow over the coil. I know it sounds dumb but I've seen it work.
