Question for yall. Looking to buy a sliding miter saw. See 10” craftsman single bevel one on the bay for $160. How much work does the double bevel save over the single bevel?
Thanks
Yall have fun this weekend. Wish i could come. Be safe

I'd guess it depends on how much you'd use it. Single bevel you'd have to hold some workpieces upside down to make the cut you need, and depending on what it is, like crown molding, that can be a pain. But 95% of the stuff you could cut just fine, esp. if you are ok cutting from both the right and left side. I am really happy with this older Hitachi 10" I got several years ago. Still cuts pretty true, at least close enough for me. I think some of the Craftsman miter saws from years back were Bosch, but I could be mistaken. No idea who makes them now

Good morning, gentlemen. I must say I am grateful for the ministrations of the Queen, who uncomplainingly takes over for me when I'm sick. I know that I did a lot last year when she was sick so much, but she is presently rousing the Primate, getting him ready for the day, preparatory to hauling him off to school.

Have a good day.

I prefer a double bevel. Like John says, they make life easier but everything can be done with a single. Just differently.
