I've been looking at these. Ran into a guy at the Stihl dealer in Lenexa who had a retracting one, and he really likes it. I think the folding version might be a bit simpler and sturdier, (and cheaper). Has anyone used these?

This truck will be a travel trailer hauler in a few years, if all goes according to plan.

I'm gonna try to run those logs across the scales to see how much weight I actually had on there. What's ur guys estimates. That's an 18' long trailer floor.

If there were 7 logs on that trailer, then less than 14,000 lbs of wood there.
Each log, if exactly 18' long and 20" diameter, they weigh 1800 pounds give or take a couple hundred right?

10x10x3.14x length in inches

What kind of wood was it? Dry or green and the species seems would make a big difference.

Must be trailer repair week. I'm taking the Dexter Torflex off and going to visit Redneck for a replacement. It got a "little" permanently bowlegged.[emoji19] Don't understand why a 3500# axle can't handle 6500# of rock. [emoji20] I got a hint that something was not quite right from the smoke coming off of the tires from rubbing on the bottom side of the top of the steel plate fenders.

Total weight in logs was 12,600! Been alright if I didn't have to haul them 60 mile one way!

I got a nice rubbed flat where the weight pushed the deck down on to the tire hauling some firewood home from Kenneth's place. That was awesome.

So this is what it will look like with the toolboxes on. I want to minimize drilling the square tube top rail, so I’m still cogitating on the attachment part. The boards are just temporary.

I think I'm starting to develop a picture of it in my head. Aluminum angle on all four long edges, bungee holes in the flanges on top for strapping on rakes and such, flange on front to hold it on there. I think I have it figured out so there will be zero drilling in the trailer. I think, therefore I have missed... the mark LOL

Aluminum stock is expensive. Any idea of best place to find it? Sheesh I'm not that rich... Maybe steel angle is more my speed.

Pretty weather today. Been a long week and I'm glad for this weekend. Went into Neosho and got some non ethanol gas for my saws for the Carthage gtg next weekend. Got a Mac 550 I hope I can get straightened out in time. May not happen but I'm gonna try.
