Good morning!

Today is picture day at Emerson's school, and I never got around to getting him a haircut. Fortunately, his hair is curly, so it pulls itself into a good look. Parenting is going well, thank the Lord. Still waiting on my copy of the ANSI tree trimming regs to come in the mail. Twenty bucks, it was. Ready to do some cold smoking! Got my pellet grill set up yesterday, it seems to work fine.

Any recommendations for a a trailer that would be good for tree work? Not sure I'm ready to spring for a dump bed just yet, Nancy and I have a bit of sticker shock from the lightly used truck, so I need to keep some peace here at home. Anniversary the Friday, and the baby sitter said she is available! Whew that was lucky.

I found a thread on the I H8 Mud forum, where a guy's rebuilding an old 009 series saw. I need help figuring out the oil pump setup, it's weird on that saw. Oiling seems to be the hardest part for me to figure out in general. Too many saws-- I was making up a "saw plan," and I got it down to a thirty saw plan, which means I have to rehab a bunch of them to sell. Lot of orange and white in my garage...

Take care, be safe on this beautiful day!
My 011avt has a diaphragm oil pump. It can be temperamental. At least mine has been. When it works, works great but it doesn't always work.

If i could, I would have (and would recommend) a low profile dump trailer, but I don't.

With that said, I have used a 16 foot utility trailer for 10 years and it has served me well. 2-3500# axles so I consider it light duty. I wish it had a fold down ramp.

It all comes down to what you want to spend. If I wanted to spend a little more (more than a 16' utility trailer) but not as much as a dump trailer, I would try to find a heavier duty 16-18' utility trailer with 2-5000# or 2-7000# axles and heavier frame.

As far as brand goes, they are all the same to me.

Here is an example of a heavier utility trailer:

I'm in the market for a trailer now, got a truck yesterday. I figured I might get a new one, since like you said, they don't seem to depreciate much. Truck cost a lot, though. Hope I get my tree license so I can pay for it. LOL

What kind of truck?

Does that trailer place in Carthage have decent deals? Sanders? Might make me able to come to the gettogether if I pick up a trailer.
there is a big trailer place on 49 coming out of KC going south.

Some turd head reefed on the bar so it needs dressed.

May post it on C’list after that.

I'm thinking a 20 foot long 10K trailer, a lot like the one Kenneth brought out to haul that big log home for me. I think the locking tool cage up front is a must when there's a few $K worth of equipment going along for the ride. Wood floor with a ramp, and the ability to attach a winch for hauling something heavy on to it. That should be sufficient for anything I'd do.

If you are going 20' I would do the 7000# axles. I wish I had a locking tool box on mine; would be nice to store straps and other things. I have a lid on my truck so I get by without the toolbox.

I like big Nates new trailer. 22400lbs of oak. Hydraulic ramp and jacks. Ramp lifts up and can hold 5000 lbs. He uses it to haul round bales.

1999 vintage. $399 at Ace hardware. I still have to store it on a slope to keep the fuel in it. Weird plastic carb, but it seems to do just fine.

I install an inline shut off valve on Duraforces. Otherwise fuel just constantly evaporates out of the carb until the fuel tank is emoty. Then you get a carb That is full of congealed 2 stroke oil that has to be cleaned out.
