Goldie and I will be heading to Roaring River Thursday for a 4 day weekend.
I don't normally fish, but while we are there, I might buy me a Snoopy rod and reel and give it a go.

I may call you tonight

A trout or 10

I think I still have a rod and real that my FIL gave me years ago. Last I saw, it was behind the front door.

Come on down, Cobey. You can show me how to catch a trout without using a shotgun.

Spent two hours figuring out the secret handshake on the Solo bottom wrap mount.[emoji57]

Raising the metering lever didn't work.[emoji21] still dies when you open the choke more than a crack.

Use 1-2 lb test line and "wee craw" crank baits. We slayed them while everybody watched in wonder. We also snuck in the "fly only" part of the river and made them mad.

Hey Steve, Hey Matt. Tonight's evening battle is a second hand, consumer grade (Lowes), Husqvarna LGT2554 riding mower that needs front wheel bushings, and has difficulties with reverse. If I could go back in time and kick my own self in the sack for buying this P.O.S., I'd do it. Worst money I've ever spent. Pretty sure I can get a couple more years out of it though.

My Dad talked me into buying a well-used, 11 hp, 38" cut, plain as dirt John Deere about 11 years ago. It was a 198? model. Still starts, runs and cuts like a new one and tough as nails. The bearings failed on one of the shaft assemblies one year at the same time as my FIL's Sears special. I was out six bucks and a couple of hours because you only had to replace the bearings, not the whole shaft. FIL was out $60 for the whole shaft (sold ONLY as a unit) plus the belt that was ruined when his bearings failed. Every now and then those old men know something....

My buddy would go with only
A white 1/32 jig with 2 pound test
And catch fish until the feathers fell
Off and then catch them on the beat up
Jig head. That dude had finesse :)
He passed last year, he showed me alot
Of his tricks but he took a few with him.

I've got a Craftsman self propelled that's sitting in my shed for about 3 years now. Really nice running 8 horse overhead valve engine on it. Big wheel mower. Plastic wheels. Big wheels turned to dust. Of course, the only place to get replacement rear wheels is Sears. I refuse to pay $60 each for new wheels. That's why I have Lawnboys now. 2 stroke Lawnboys. Don't get me started on Sears.:mad::mad:

Bring an extra rod and reel with you Cobey. I can't find the one I thought I had.
Might have to buy me a cheap one.

Were the rear ones part of the self propelled part? If not, I just hauled a set of the plastic ones to the junk yard. Next time you're down you should look through my junk heap, err, spare parts inventory.

Come by the house if you want to try fly fishing Steve. Spent many days at Roaring River.

Front wheel drive. Sears uses a different offset on their rear wheels. Nobody else's works, I've tried. I finally got mad enough at it that I cut off the old mounts, made my own and put on front riding mower tires and wheels. Looks like a top fuel dragster now. The neighbors started laughing at it (or me). That's why it's in the shed now.
