Looks like the scenic route on the map.
Cant be any more scenic than the route to the races at lake wappapello this upcoming weekend...
Damn...
4 hours and still in the same state!!

Just got back from an area that's damn close to Monroe LA and it only took 6.5 hours!

Driving across TN is long as hell. To Memphis is around 8 hours and almost 500 miles.

Back when I was still a whooper snapper, I did San Francisco to Norfolk a bunch of times without batting an eye. These days it would take a week or more to work the kinks out of my right hip if I tried that again. Ageing is painful.

Morning fella's.

At 16:1 they sure were.

I run my 'new' one (28 years) at 32:1. Not bad. So same for saws as they have to share fuel.

This one was born in 1978. I didn't know they made brick tops that late. It would be a 32:1 engine if I'm not mistaken. I'll be putting new rings and seals in it. I can actually get a set of Caber rings for it too.

I guess I haven't slowed down enough yet. I like to get from point A to point B as quick as possible, and for me that is the interstate usually; although the interstates are becoming more and more choked up these days. I know there is stuff to see on the scenic routes but I am supposed to keep my eyes on the road anyway; and if an 8 hour trip is bad, then I don't see how a 10 hour trip could be better.

I have been on some long trips. Drove to CA a couple of times, Vegas, Smokey Mountains, Mount Rushmore, Corning NY, Toronto/Niagara Falls, etc. The longest I have driven is 18.5 hrs from Niagara Falls to my door last summer, left at 6 am that morning and got home at 12:30 am that night.

Not bad. Mostly 4 lane til IA. It's the short way for me.
In 2002 I did 88,000 mi. Lots of seat time.

WOW, that is 3.5 times around the earth. Were you driving a truck?
