Got A MS310 (390) fromXP_Slinger on the Christmas thread.
Someone suggested using a 044 carb since AM jug and slug have been installed. Wondering whats the difference between the MS310 (walbro hd 19?) and the 044 (walbro hd 16?) carbs as far as orifice size etc. Since probly gonna have to buy one i just as soon get the higher capacity one.Just sayin
I haven't changed the carb
On any, with an am jug I wouldn't waste
Time on a different carb. A hutzl
Motor can be got for around 80 bucks.
Am run ok, but not as strong as a 390 or 290s factory jug

A small increase in Venturi diameter would be worthwhile.

OTOH, the 070/090 carb I put on the Clinton didn’t exactly make it an animal.

Well fellas God has been good lately. Got a call back for a very good job I applied for months ago for an interview on Jan 16. And in other news I picked me up an old simington 450 square grinder as well so can't wait for it to get here to start sharpening chains!

Got a fried 026 for parts
The tank seems good hope I can replace
The 026 I gave bran the other day

That’s a model I want to try a Farmertec engine (complete) in. Just to see how it would come out.[emoji848]

Edit:

Huztl/Farmertec MS260 engine comes close to a Benjamin delivered.

It sure is. Every time I look out the window it's chugging smoke. Not sure that the damper has closed in two full days. I just keep on tossing in wood.
My woodpile is about gone. Plenty for next year, but hard maple doesn't dry out in two months, no matter how much I wish it to. Plan to get some seasoned elm from Kenneth tomorrow.
This wood furnace does an excellent job heating the house. Fills the ductwork with hot air, and the house stays uniformly about 72. Super cold nights I supplement with a couple of unventeds that help by adding a bit of moisture as well. I like the quiet of not listening to the thirty year-old forced air furnace rattling and banging. Hope you guys are staying warm.

I'll have to go at least to KC to get some 30 gallon drums, it looks like. Grrr.
