Rode along with my friend Curt from Mound City down to Sugar Creek Saturday.

Curt carted 58 Homelites back north and I had two in the truck cab.

Who could pass up a XL 955VI or a SEZ with possibilities.

I got it to run with a new pump side diaphragm but the fuel system is shot.

Steve tells me a full wrap gets this extra sheet metal guard.

Lugging it around makes me like my Remy PL/SL-55 types as they are 2 1/4 # less.

I know the VI944 has plenty of grunt.

What’s the trick to get the tube inserted in the grommet?

My geezer fingers are not up to the task. [emoji21]

Got it. Bar oil and max effort.

I won’t be able to move my fingers tomorrow. [emoji58]

Hi Carl,

Put a little bit of mix oil on the tube and it should wiggle in easily.

Carl i use STP on a lot of rubber applications, O rings, fuel lines, etc works great.

Install the rubber tank line with the metal line already in the grommet. Still need some lube, but the metal line becomes your friend when working the grommet into the tank opening.

Speaking of Homelite I did fire up the red wood slayers yesterday .I know the Homelite 2100 s ,Mac 125 and Stihl 084 had not been fired up in ten years but they all fired up with a squirt in the carb .The 2100 CD Husqvarna out ran them all which I expected .The 084 will be used next week to drop a big Cotton wood DSCN1216[1].JPG

That was going to be my next attempt.

Pulling too hard on the tank line gives me the ‘hebbie jeebies’ tho. I’d hate to rip it in half. [emoji51]

The metal line already inserted will let you sorta rotate and push along with some modest tugging on the line (and a little oil on the grommet) to sneak it right into the tank opening. If it's a Sawzilla line the rubber is pretty tough.

Didn’t have spark at first.

Moved the coil to within .015” of the magnets made all the difference.

That and, fixing a few piddly fastener issues got us a runner and cutter. [emoji106]

It’s 3/8” x 16”.

I’d prefer .325” x 14” iffin I kept him.

Haven't showed off this one in awhile. Obviously used somewhat as indicated by the handle wear, but is exactly how it came out of the case when I bought it. The cleanest used saw I've ever run across.

I'd hate to see what their kitchen looks like.
LOL !! They have an “85” (out of 100) and they don’t care. I don’t either. The BBQ is awesome. Been going there a very long time. They have a Habanero sauce that is delicious and today I was able to buy a bottle of the stuff. Hasn’t been available for sale ever. Got to feed Jimmy the cat our scraps out on that porch. Food is always consistent and good. image.jpg
