My xl2 is the double trigger so handle cover is different. See pix below. Two sets of hooks to mount handle in slot. The hook on the right is the one I broke. I super glued it but not confident it will remain attached when I install it; we’ll see when I put everything back together. Apparently yer sposed to nudge the hook, very gently, with a screwdriver through the hole in the end of the handle

I believe I have 2 of these tucked away somewhere. One my be a bit more of a non runner. They are very interesting saws.

5-30 is a belt drive 114cc I believe. Both that and the 944 are strong saws when running. Sometimes freeing them is easy.
Thought it was a gear drive.
Guess that was the belt housing.
As long as it stuck from sitting, it wouldnt be a big deal.

@Dream your 5-30 is not a 5-30, It is a 26 LCS, The second model Homelite produced.
The 944 is also not a 944 as 944's are a antivibe saw and should look like @fossil 922.
Ok. I'm doing this long distance, as the guy that called me about them is in Maine and doesnt know much about saws.
He gave me the 5-30 and VI944 from what he saw on the tags. Not sure where he got the 5-30 markings, bit the VI 944 came from the id tag. Not saying it wasnt off another saw.

Can anyone help with a XL12 with low compression. I would buy a little red barn kit but it has a lot of negative comments. It has about 85 PSI . Will run but not good.
