Thanks. Gonna check them. Guess I was wanting a miracle, don't hafta take it down response. Got any idea what the capacitance should be on the condenser?
Not sure. You have an inline spark tester?

No. Got a bolt meter with capacitance function. Now you mention points - I seem to remember shortly after I rebuilt it that the points went wildly out of adjustment. Seems like instead of 0.015 it was something like 0.15 when I opened it up. I know I paid particular attention when adjusting it the second time and am certain I didn't set it at 0.15. I know I snugged it down the last time. If it's the points again I'm gonna have to use thread lock and maybe some impact. Will let you know. Thanks

Jerry: I've only had one bad condenser so far.

The lead fell out of the end.

Set the gap a tad wider for a touch more spark lead. .018" (ish)

my super xl auto has a leaking seal on the clutch side and i noticed the seal is NLA would you guys know if a national 253747 would fit?
i would greatly appreciate the help.

It won't. That seal will fit on the flywheel side. You're looking for a 58308 A or B.

I may have one that will fit better than the sub I'm using now but I haven't ordered one yet to try.

The 58308 A and B are available from several suppliers at present for under $10 plus shipping.

thanks guys
The points are good and gapped right. Removed the coil assembly and discovered the pin in the coil that the high tension lead screws in to is broken off. The coating on the coil is squishy too. Guess it got hot, eh?
Anyone got a C5 coil? Part number 55986-A

Yes it is Tim. It is the only stuff I go after in the hills. This one got scorched over 20 years ago. Dwarf Mistletoe took a hold and it was a wild mess at the top. Been standing dead for some time. This one has high pitch content in the bark from the stress. Makes superior firewood out here. Hard, straight and heavy. And the aroma of the terpenes is something else.

That thickly furrowed bark is the main reason I am always fitting up spikes on my machines. Makes a mess of the case and front mufflers if you can't stay out of it. I have a couple 36" splitting rounds from a tree I dropped a couple years ago. Bark is pushing 6" in places.

Ok guys, need some help. I have two Super XL 130's. The first one
got a few years ago and had no spark. So i found a coil on ebay but
it didn't match the one on the saw. The new one was blue, one on saw
is black. So i sold the blue coil to a member and now i own that saw.
So i finally found a black coil that from what i could tell should be the
correct coil. Wrong. This black coil has the lead that would go to the
points. Mine is electronic. So now i'm thinking the black coil must have
been installed by who knows who. And is incorrect. I'm thinking i need
the blue coil after all. But i can't seem to find the correct IPL for these
Super XL 130's. So i need the correct part number for the blue coil.

TIA

Truth be known on a magneto spark just about any condenser that will fit in the alloted space will work .I've done a bunch of mags,Wicos on John Deeres,Eisenman on old Caterpilars ,Edison on old Indian motorcycles .All the condenser does is keep the points from flashing over .

On a battery spark if you don't have the condenser matched to the coil it could burn or deposit metal on one side of the breaker points or another .Not so on a magneto .

SXL- 925. I'm having a bit of an issue sourcing the correct part here: advice would be appreciated.

Thank You.
