Thanks Tim. Gasoline, WD-40 and a stiff toothbrush.

It's like Botox for chainsaws.

I did pick up a sweet little garden hose nozzle from Lee Valley. It can produce a fine water jet with curb pressure. After stripping the ignitions and soaking the parts in Mother Nature's favourite solvent, the jet really cleans out all the tricky spots.

Yup, garden hose hooked to the hot side in the laundry tub. Some O'Reilleys foaming engine degreaser and blast it.
Driveway looks terrible 'till the next rain.

Was missing a fuel filter and spark plug.
Then I had to put gas in it and pull the cord.

Haven't tried it in wood yet.

Do they have a governor?

Yeah. Them is a problem. But that's the way it goes in there.

Shove in the tube after the grommet part if the pickup hose is in place.

If that's from little red barn, watch the end if it splits from the supplied filter. BTDT

Nope,nos Homelite.

Use lots of silicone grease or something slippery and work in in slowly. Sometimes pushing with something blunt like a popsicle stick is easier (and less likely to break it) than trying to pull it through.

For those that haven't tried it. I use STP as a great lube for rubber
components, O rings, seals etc. Slicker than snot on a door knob.
I use it as an engine assembly lube as well as many other applications.
Nothing personal though. :)
