Has the 661 been proven like the 066/660?

The Sugi's are tough bars also, but the Stihl Light bars are the lightest. In 28" .063, is is over 1/2 lb difference.

Them Stihl light 28" bars balance so well & removed so much weight I'd kinda rather spend money more frequently replacing them than trying to find a longer lasting bar that is heavier & don't handle as well. I've many solid rsn bars up to 42" & from 25" up they are dang heavy slabs of metal. I wonder if Stihl does a 36" light? That would be pretty neat. The 2 Sugi 32"/24" light bars I use are not really light at all.

I have a Stihl 36" light on a 660. It is nice, but the 28" is sweat, balances real well on my Hybrid.

I still think to much is made of weights of bars imho. Yes I have some lw bars and like them. And it's true some do balance better but when you get right down to it if I'm worried about a 1/2 lb here or 3/4 of a pound there I better just go put my saw back in the shed. To each there own I guess

Depends on what you are doing with it. If you just have to buck, it makes no difference. If you have to make a notch on a partly rotted tree, kinda high, while you are on a steep rock incline, and you have to reach out with it, you will want it to be as light and manageable as possible.

Also, if you got to climb through tangles, a lighter bar is much easier to thread the needle with, moves so much easier.

No, I think the Stihl light bars are in total the cream of the crop. The tsumara bar tips tend to wear out a little faster, but the rails are very very hard. I've been torturing a 24" Total RW on my ported 2260, it's holding up well. @RI Chevy

If you are just working a pile all day and the saw is working in the wood horizontally then you don't notice the bar weight so much. Honestly I prefer a heavy bar on the landing.

If I'm out in the Cut all day, depending on what I'm felling I'll chose a different power head but I always use RW bars when carrying the damn saw all day.

True & a 28" Stihl light balances as good as it gets on a 660. Holding the top handle with two fingers and the saw/bar is straight.

I ran only 2 or 3 tanks through my 661 before ordering the maxflow. Couldn't believe the amount of fines that got under the hd2.

If i run the HD2 i dont run a cover and just use the maxflow plates with an outerwear..works pretty good.
