Yes I still think it is pointing to the switch. As I posted in my thread for sloa
to test with a multimeter and see if it is showing a full circuit one way a and not
the other switch is okay but if it is showing a full circuit both wats time for a new switch.
If I have trouble with them running and not stopping or the other way
around the first place I head is straight to the switch. I have had many a saw come to my
shed with client saying it will not stop and I either test the switch with a multimeter or
pull the wire of fthe coil and short it out on the motor.

Check part #17 contact spring is not bent up and contacts with part #16 shaft/short circuit wire from coil correctly in off position. In off position, short circuit wire from the coil mounted in shaft #16 should contact contact spring #17. No contact in run/choke positions.

Also check that BOTH ends of the shaft #17 ride properly in the case. I have seen these get sloppy from wear in the case plastic/shaft. But usually on right side effecting choke.

One more thing, bad/dirty connection at the coil for the short wire spade connection

put bar and chain on and ran. LA and low weren’t in concert and needed some corrections. At first thought maybe a leak,
I couldn’t tame it. But here he is 25” running Hexa and pulled it nicely, not sure how well oiling as I could only play for twenty minutes. Will put in wood soon.
Heavy, not good sitting balance with 25”. Nice walking balance though. Looking forward to bucking. Thought I’d use for falling , I will give a honest try but feel it’s a bucking saw.
My next is to change seals in a wood shark. Changed carburetor only to find not the problem. Solid saw
