I 100% understand your frustration but DON’T SELL IT. If you need a break just walk away even if the car just sits till next spring.
I haven’t touched my car since last October. I have a handful of parts for it but just no desire to start fighting with it again. I might not even touch it till next spring. I’ve done this several times over the years. Gotta clear your head, step back and reassess and start with a fresh mindset.

What the Cannuck said. Plus, think on the bright side, better to find these snafu's now, before you're out on the road with it.
Plus, plus, I've never ever seen such an endeavor that didn't have some kind of failure to launch issues.
Fix it and get to the good part, it'll be worth the extra aggravation. ;)

I have owned this since 2000.. So if I continue on that path, it will never get done. But, I get what you are saying.
Put it on a trailer and drop it off with an LS swap-shop guru.

Even though you're a skilled technician, you deserve a break.
No such thing around here. A few years back when I was really burned out on cars we actually took it to a shop in the southern part of the state.
We spent a day there checking it out, showing them pictures of what state the car was in and what I all wanted done, what parts we already had and what needed to be purchased yet. Shop quoted us a price. We thought about it for a few days and went forward with it. Sent the car and all parts there.
3 weeks later, guy calls. His new estimate is 4 times what he originally said. He also says some of the things we talked about doing are impossible to do. Guy then offers to buy the car. Says he will give us $5000 for it. It's got that in suspension parts alone.
We had them install the headliner simply because it was there and they are a pain to do.
Got the car back. We were missing so much stuff that had initially been sent with it it's not funny. We decide it's best to cut our loses and just walk away from there because it's not worth the jail time we would have ended up facing had we kept trying to deal with them in getting some of it back. We also had a few parts that were not ours. My guess is they had 2 67's and used some of our stuff on the other car never thinking we would pull it from there.

I understand all that. I also dragged my feet so long and have nobody to blame but myself but my Dad's health just isn't cooperating. I am now at this point where I have this pressure to get it driveable at least before it's too late. I tend to really be hard on myself and if he doesn't get to drive it I know it's something that will eat at me for the rest of my life.

A few years ago I stumbled on the show "Roadkill". That show is what finally got me back to wanting to do this. If you've never seen it, it's well worth the watch. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan do some epically funny and crazy stuff all in the name of automotive fun.

Ditto! I've been fighting my truck for 3 years now. Actually need to get my azz of the couch right now and go piddle with it.

Those truck intakes actually work really well. They make decent HP and torque down low and flow quite well up to 7k rpms. I’ve seen pictures of the truck intakes where guys have shaved and painted them and they actually look decent. Finding a good TBSS intake would be awesome followed by an ls1/ls6 intake for an oem performance intake.

Dang man! That's a rough go. We're middle-aged men here. We don't fear the carburetor.

Yank that hair-pullin sht out of the engine bay and get back to the basics:

327 chevy with a well tuned quadrajet. U could have er runnin in 2 weeks or less.

If all else fails, I'll disassemble one of the factory harnesses I have, go with a factory ECM and spend the $$ on the HP tuners software.

Or, figure out how to control the trans and go this route..

I hope you don't have to go carbureted. I feel like you are getting close now. Do you have another vacuum leak? I had lt1 swaps program a factory ECU for me seems to run pretty good. I am just running a stock 4.8 van motor with cable throttle and standard trans though

If I have another vacuum leak, I haven't found it.

Wonder why fuel trims are so far off then because they leveled out before? Is fuel pressure holding steady? I know some injectors from those motors want less pressure and they have different fuel rates which I think I saw you talking about a few pages back so I assume you have checked that

Zero help for me.
Might be helpful for Dallas.

Holley actually has all the injector numbers in their global files. I just need to select which injectors I have by part number.
Fuel pressure is set to 58psi. That's a pretty normal pressure for these. I can even input the actual pressure and it will automatically adjust the injector pulse width to compensate for different pressures.
Right now, that's what I'm trying to figure out, why I finally got the O2 sensor to do something, found a vacuum leak I couldn't get fixed on the intake and now I'm running a factory manifold with all new seals and gaskets and I'm back to a flatline o2 sensor..

Finally, this is something that I at least recognize. All that other stuff you're playing with is black magic to me.
I always figured, if we broke down, it was easy to get going again, if it was kept simple. The cars with black magic were usually trailered to the shows. But that was in the early 90's.
I'm amazed by what you do for a living and your thought process building your car. I hope you can give your Dad a ride in it.

So weird: both my detroit truetrac front limited slip and this ford rear limited slip rebuild kit call for conventional gear oil.

Both manufacturers said do not use synthetic gear oil.
