Had other obligations today so I only spent a little time on the car.
Made some short cooler hoses so I don't have to attempt to connect them to the trans when it's in the car as there is very little space in there.

From there I can run them forward along the pan rail with minimal effort and easy access to connections.

Finally getting the opportunity to start working on the blazer! Have my shopping cart full of sheet metal patch panels gonna order them Monday! Got the core support off and the motor and tranny pulled pretty happy to be diving in! IMG_1977.jpeg

What's wrong with your truck now?

Same problem I've been after for almost 3 years. Has a spark knock/detonation type noise between 2300-2600rpm. Keeps getting metal in the oil. I've tested everything and it all test good. I've replaced literally everything and it still does it. Only thing I haven't replaced is the the wiring harness.

All with the same engine, I presume? Weird either way, hopefully a new engine fixes it.

You're like me. You can't stand to let a machine beat you and will spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours fighting it.

Yeah, I'm somewhere in the 20k range in the last three years fighting this noise with no avail. I even bought a brand new truck in January and I still won't let this machine beat me!

For now I am putting in a gm crate 330hp 350. It’s used and doesn’t have many miles on it, and know the full history on. I am building a banshee motor for a friend in trade for a dart little m block, can build a pretty big small block with it. Got a super nice 400 block fully machined too, want to get a baseline with the 350 and see how I like the 5 speed. Might just keep things mild too
