I got the engine compartment portion of the wiring harness somewhat sorted out but didn't feel like driving to town to get my factory type terminal crimp tools.

So, I shifted to making brackets to install a plate type trans cooler. The radiator has a cooler, but I'm all for transmission cooling.

I figured since the radiator bolts already protrude through the support, why not utilize that...

In the first pic you can see how I cut part way through my flat stock to make a nice 90 degree bend easier, then simply weld it.
I'll get some paint on those and the accelerator pedal bracket this week.

I need to explore brake booster and master cylinder options too...

She sounds pretty healthy. It’s such a good feeling when they breathe to life the first time. (Especially when you’re not running for the staydry. Lol)

I remember many times praying "please let this POS start so I can get those hours on this paycheck and not the next one!"

The transmission is back out for the last 100th time..
20250301_121215.jpg

I completely switched gears on that to expedite this whole "get it moving" thing.
After shopping rebuild kits, components, and compete transmissions I pulled the trigger on a GM reman. The owner of the dealer said he'd sell it to me at cost, it was competitive with pricing on other "mild" reman units and has a 3 year, 100k warranty vs 1 year. Plus, if there's an issue, I will get paid to fix it. Prices on components to overhaul what I have came to only a few hundred dollars cheaper and of course no warranty.
Everything I've found with my engine build tells me in a car application a stock torque converter will be fine.
If not, that can be a next winter project..

Accelerator pedal bracket is done as well

Awesome progress Ed. That’s a ton of work especially considering most all of it has been custom. Which trans have you got there? Looks like 4L60 or 4L80?

4l60.

Got the brackets bolted to the auxiliary trans cooler and a hose made from the radiator to said cooler.

Will finish plumbing that once the new transmission is in. It's a tight fit so I have banjo fittings to go into the trans. I then figure to run 2 short hoses down to somewhere near the crossmember. I'll then have another set of fittings there.
It makes for more fittings and individual hoses but not having to connect them once it's stuffed inside the tunnel will make it worthwhile.

A 67 Chevelle doesn't have front side marker lamps, so I cut the wires short, heated some shrink tube and pinched it off to seal it and those wires will simply be left in the harness.

Here is how I do split loom.. I do a few wraps around the wires, then slide the loom over, then a few wraps over the loom.

I was short 1 terminal in my painless kit for my turn signal. I'll dig through our 47 trays of terminals at work because I'm figuring we will have one vs calling them and waiting for them to ship me one.
