So, anybody know the good and bad of a 2010 F-150 4x4? My in-laws' neighbor has one to sell for 5k. Supposedly it was bought new by an older gentleman who passed away and the widow just doesn't want to keep it around. I don't know what engine is in it, I would guess a 4.6 being 4wd and extended cab.

That's pretty cheap from what I can find. Depending on milage and shape of course.

Took a break from my 24v to work on a different 6 cyl 24v, the one in the 94 Land Cruiser. It barely passed smog last time and the smog guy told me to clean the maf sensor and adjust the valves and it'll be good to go again. All was going well until I actually got the valve cover off. Is the timing chain guide supposed to be in two pieces? Fortunately I'm on good terms with the parts guys at my local Toyota dealership so they give me decent pricing, but this is a whole lot of work I don't wanna do.

Good that you found that culprit, but I just don't like engine issues.

@redline4 I also had to use and LS3 dip stick and tube for proper clearance and fittment around the headers.

I still have yet to decide which headers I'm going with yet.

After more in and out with this thing than Dallas sees on a Friday night at the truck stop, I think I'm close.

Tie rod just touches at full lock to the left.

I'm going to pull the car off the jackstands and see how the engine sits as far as level goes and then proceed to seeing how the transmission fits...

Is that the F body oil pan or is it the one from the chevelle kit you mentioned? Just curious

It settled the front like I knew it would.
There's adjustment up and down in my ride height but looks good so far.

Engine almost level, minimum clearance to pan is 1/4", which should be fine I think.

Steering just contacts at full lock.

And looks like plenty of room for the bellowing.

So close, but so far away...

Had the engine in and out another 6 times. Removed a spacer, moved the mount again. Just can't quite clear the top of the trans while getting the flexplate into the bellhousing.
I think if I had rubber mounts vs the Energy Suspension urethane mounts it would tip back a bit more and maybe work.
Going to have to do some massaging to the tunnel.
Once that's remedied, I'll order the trans overhaul stuff and headers.
