What is this rubber valve your talking about? Pics or links to it?
Wish we could still but the yellow spout cans! I have a couple of those I have to dig out.
Metal cans are great. Just don't put ethanol in them.
Are there any fuel cans out there that are any good? I absolutely hate the styles available today! The expand and contract and if you go to fill a saw and don't relieve the pressure look out! So has anyone found some good ones? What are you using? I left this one out over night and it got into the 40's!![]()

This is all OSHA will allow in a shop environment anymore and honestly they are well worth the money.
2 liter pop bottle.I use the old skool cans. Tip them up=spill. Tip them down=no spill. Werkth fer me
Thats what I doThe best idea to fix the new plastic EPA jugs I've seen a is drill a 1/2" hole in the rear of them then fish a rubber valve stem thru it and install the valve stem and leave the valve core out and open the valve cap to vent as needed.

I use these as well. I sure didn't pay that much for them though. Our Farmers Co Op has them for $20 with spouts. I just think they are too big for saw use.View attachment 70150
I have a pile of these they are awesome.
I'm guessing this is what you are talking about? Looks pretty good, but I also now think the valve stem idea is a good one and I can get that locally.I bought a couple of 5-gal kerosene cans last year that were the new-fangled EPA chit. Immediately walked back over to the aisle and purchased the conversion, non-EPA spouts, got'em home, replaced the spouts, drilled and reamed a .490 vent hole in the top rear, snapped in and sealed in place the 1/2" vent that came with the conversion spouts. Sent the chit EPA spouts to the landfill with the trash.
