The best smog cans I ever tried were the old Blitz cans with a lever over the spout sold at Walmart. They would pour just like a real gas can and the no caps to lose or vents to deal with. Sadly, I think the company got sued into oblivion awhile back. I still have two of them and will pick more up if I encounter them. If I ever need to buy a new gas can it will probably be an Eagle safety can.

View attachment 83793the trick to getting a awesome nozzle when ya buy new fuel jugs is buy them at a place that also sells the blue 5 gal water jugs. The water jugs have sweet ass auto siphon old school nozzles on them. Swap the nozzles from said water jug onto yer fuel jug of choice and go check out.. taa daaaa!! Its like a magic show up in here :) here is a 1gal with the auto siphon water jug nozzle on it. I also have a 2.5 and two 5ers. Haha!! No epa crap for mee thanks!

I'm not a fan or defender of the new cans.

Your "plan" is essentially stealing from your chosen vendor. What do you expect them to do with the water jugs absent a nozzle?

Really? The retailer may feel differently......

So if a saw comes standard with a ANSI "Low Kickback" chain, but the store also stocks regular chain, it would be fine to switch out the loop before purchase?

Nice moral compass.

Its funny u should mention the retailer.. i had asked an employee if they sold the non epa nozzles and he said nope, but check the water jugs... Soo thats what i did. If you dont like my moral compass, feel free to get bent ;)

Oh, and any good stihl dealer will swap a garbage low kickback chain for a real one on a new saw any time you ask. Ive done it a few times. That make me a bad person too??

So the employee told you to go ahead and swap the nozzles? That's neat.

Yeah, sure. I wouldn't call you a bad person, as I don't know you. From your reactions to replies made here, I would say that you're narcissistic, and kind of a jack ass.

Meh, i dont sugarcoat life. If you think that makes me narcissistic, and or a jackass. Thats your opinion and you are welcome to it. God bless america! From your reaction to my replies here, im guessing the government makes us buy fuel jugs with epa nozzles on them because of people like you. No worries tho, as i have a suitable solution. Have a great day!

Funny thing is the "garbage " chain cuts just the same as the non anti kickback stihl chain. Unless you are plunge cutting you'd never know the difference

Plunge cuts are one difference, something i have to do regularly at work. For this reason i wont buy a lowkick "garbage" chain as it is near useless at work. Another would be ease of filing down the depth gauge. And just for kicks, ive never thrown a chain on any type of scale, but i could only assume that the low kickback chains have more rotating weight. Which in theory would only rob engine power.. and we cant be having that now can we?!? Hahaha

Those sure cans look complicated and a leak waiting to happen if you do something wrong .

I say KISS is best , give me an old galvanized can and a funnel if need be .

Oh and on swapping things in the store , are you the kind of guy that swaps a Fram Ultra oil filter with the cheapest POS filter in the store just to save a few bucks ??

And Fram Ultras are not the best filter... cardboard anti drainback valve. Trash compared to the others that have silicone. Yes, I've heard of Frams failing because of that. Seen it too.

Wix Golds are what I use. Silicone valves. Also have a Platinum that is used with synthetic. Purolator are good as well. Used those. Problem is the store that has them is mainly a grocery, so they don't always have the filter you need.

Anything but the real cheap stuff and Fram is what I use.

I'm the kind of guy who drives across town to get a Purolator when he finds his usual place is out of everything but Fram. I've done it more than once!

The dealership where I work, we use a five gallon for storage of non ethanol. We mix our two gallon No Spills off of it. We stock the 5 and 2 gallon Sure Cans. The other place I work also sells them, along with the repair kits. The owner of the dealership also uses a five gallon Sure Can when he is out on the lake. No tipping to pour.
