I am sure sure at some point this has been discussed many times but I am not finding it in a search. I used to say I had the techno skills of a 2 year old but sadly today they are probably better at it.....

Most folks agree the new plastic safety cans that have been around 15 years or so suck. I am wondering if anyone has found a good replacement nozzle for the new cans and more importantly the old cans. I have plenty of old cans but the nozzles are junk. I need new ones. I have tried some of the eBay junk and got just that .....junk. I also would like some solid caps. There has to be a source of quality nozzles and caps out there somewhere.

I have brands such as
Blitz
Wedco
Midwest Can
Along with many steel ones

You should be able to buy them off of Amazon.ca.

Which is a different company than Amazon.com.

It was supposed to be a jokingly fun remark Bill! :)

We don't have safety can nozzles!
I'll get pictures later, just a tube either flexible or rigid screwed on in place of the can cap. ;)

My apologies if my message came over the wrong way! 🍻

These are the best ones I’ve found in our area over the years.
They work well and come with the yellow flip vent. I have to stand on my front tractor tire to put fuel in it. It would take about 20 minutes to pour 5 gallons of fuel in it with the crappy 5 gallon diesel can. I put one of these on it and it will empty 5 gallons in about 45 seconds. I just have to make sure it will hold the whole jug because there's no stopping it without spilling it all over the place.

I personally like the caps and nozzles that I’ve bought off eBay and Amazon for my Blitz and Wedco gas cans.

Awhile back I was trying to find a supply of the Scepter 2 in 1 cans that we cannot get in the US but folks in Canada can. Prince Auto and Canadian Tire both sell them but cannot ship to the USA. I found a few folks in Canada that would buy them for me but the shipping was a killer. I see now there is a guy on eBay in Champlain New York that runs across the border and gets them.

I know you were joking. Your message was fine. :D

I am just frustrated with cheaply made junk that does not work as described. About 30-40 years ago you could not give away gas cans at a farm auction. Now they are crazy expensive and you still do not have a good spout.

I miss the days when cans worked .........................

A "single use" oil canister, I utilize these for diesel.
The short nozzle collapses into the plug, excessive use causes cracks in the collapsible nozzle plastics.
I don't spend much diesel so it is not an issue for me.
These canisters are sturdy and stackable.

How do those vent?
When sitting closed containing fuel?
They don't, same as Your chainsaw fuel tanks (though those can breathe IN!).
Thick plastic holds the pressure.
They just breathe with the fuel, expand on heat & retract on cold.

My dads "Jerry can", we have our "spare" spare gas in it.
I didn't mount the nozzle cause its a bit dusty and I didn't wanna contaminate the fuel.
It is a 1983.
