New guy here. I stumbled into chainsaws cutting lathe blanks. Once I saw whole logs being milled I just had to try it out.

After lurking here for a while. I purchased a damaged Ojenas 070 clone and a grandberg mill. I sharpened up the ojenas chain with a granberg file and joint jig.

I think the first run went well. I used 2x6s for the first cut. The saw seemed to self feed pretty well. We got 4 slabs from this red oak branch. I will be trying bigger stuff soon.

I touched up the chain afterwards even though it seemed fairly sharp.

Welcome to the site. Looks like some nice slabs to start with.

Newbie to the site also. Been Alaskan milling for a few years off and on. Took delivery Today as a matter of fact of a Logosol Farmers M8. In the back of the truck as I type. Have about 6 18-23" diameter White Ash logs waiting for my ripping chains to be delivered. The Alaskan uses a 36" bar on a MS 660 Mag. Bar and chain are too big for the Farmers Mill. So I have some time to wait on Granberg and their production time. Video of my FIRST milling of a Big Red Oak and the Granberg Alaskan. Can't wit to get off my knees.
