Down in Selma at my Aunts house, running a few errands. This is some oak & maple that's been down about a year.
Noodled a few gnarly rounds and tossed some smaller chunks aboard for a decent load. Broke the pull handle once again on my MS 660!!!
Used a stick to get it crunk...
There's enough for 3 more loads...they ain't going to nowhere...so later for em!!

I love the smell of that oak when cutting, splitting, and noodling.

I split all that oak and the after smell is still floating around the air. It's great to walk near and catch a wiff. I have a bunch of fresh cut oak slabs in my lean-to and they're smelling it up great.

With the 5-6 face cord split and stacked in the woods yet, I am done for next year. I have never been done before December before. Still have probably 2 years worth of cherry, hickory, and ash in the woods to get done yet. And just got the go ahead to take whats down on the neighbor's also. Probably 2 years worth of rock hard dry ash. 19x7 racks. 20200509_162216.jpg

It's only just kind of getting cold here looks like my dad is starting to sell a little firewood.
He's early 70's retired does firewood here and there so he don't get to bored his saws are two ms661 and an ms880.
It's you load mixed iron bark/ spotted gum / box the sign is for the ones who think they are cunning going through it only getting ironbark.
Sure they can do that but they will be paying more if they don't like it he tells them unload what they have already loaded and get lol

Yeah that will all be gone before the end of winter.
He also sells about 100 loads or more of sawmill docking saw offcuts (cheaper) but they are almost all gone so this will be the last year he can sell them it will just be his split firewood after this winter.

This is hardwood docking saw off cuts from when the sawmill was going I used to get ute loads of it was good nice easy load of firewood.

Wow!
What an awesome looking sea of firewood.
Do you have a close-up pic of any ironwood?
I'd like to compare it with this "mystery wood" I harvested last yr that I never quite got a positive ID on.

Thanks,
Reg

You mean Iron bark? Do you have any pics of this wood you cut? Did it still have bark on it? If you have a pic I might be able to ID it.
