Put the new seals in last night. New fuel and impulse line. Using the old boot for now. Started right up but inconsistent idle when flipped on it's side. Holds a vacuum just fine, even when rotating the crank. I need to borrow my buddies pressure tester to try to find the source.
A change in idle when the saw is tilted on it's side is usually a crank seal right? Maybe I fubar'd one installing it. I was very careful not to flip a lip though!
It is nice to work on a saw that hasn't been dicked with before.

Not always, could be fuel line/filter position or some other cause. Honestly a few of my saws do this and as long as it doesn't race I assume it's not a big deal. Does the idle fall right off? Does it die?

It increases, just a bit. I don't have a tach so I don't know how much. Enough to get the chain moving though. The carb is at factory settings.

Tip it foward parallel to u and see if it dies or changes tune. Sounds like it may be out alil on the L speed

Well, I guess it was the tune. I pulled the carb apart again and cleaned/checked everything again. Put it all back together and it idles and runs great now! Steady idle in all positions.
I went back to the seller the other day and picked up the bar and chain that I had passed on before. $60 with two almost new chains. It's a Stihl 32" bar that had been re-tipped and ground. Was missing all it's paint and had surface rust so I sanded and painted it up so it'll at least look good for now. I want to get a light bar eventually.

Jmssaws has some parts for me to swap to the new style air filter on the way but for now..

The new and improved three saw plan :)

Still need some smalls like cap seals and muffler flange so I can use the new muffler base. I'd like to find a recoil cover that is in good shape also.
So far I only have $275 into the saw/bar/chains.

It is a nice saw! Im jealous of the 064 av plate on the top cover!! Lol! I want one on mine!!:D

What do you have on there now? I ran it by the label plate/photo etch dept at my work and they seem to think it would be easy to reproduce if they can get the font right.. If I get one made I'll make extras for ya'll.
