.050 and .063 presets can be wildly different between both same chain companies or different brands. Oregon probably shares many the same ,till you get to .404 sizes.
Of label chains are often the same throughout, higher quality chain have a bigger rivet in the .063 size.

Hey fellas, just want to update:

Duke sent me a 3 pack of chains right after contacting me a few weeks ago, after my experience and review of the chain was posted here. Chains arrived right away. He sent me 24” which is what I originally tested.. since then, I finished a job with the same competitors chain of the same length, and moved onto another logging job where I used my 20” bar/chain for the whole job.

That being said, I did throw a brand new Duke’s chain on my 24” bar and used it to make a couple (literally 2) cuts while bucking some Black Walnut. At this time, it’s not enough time on the chain to compare and give much feedback.

I haven’t forgotten about it, and will review it honestly again, once I get some more time on it.

Back when I was working in a saw shop, I was told to use the punched out tie strap and preset to make a loop. I never liked doing it and knew better but did what I was told. I never heard of a problem.
I never saw a bag of presets and straps, but I worked nights and the new rolls were already broken out when I showed up. I don't know where the missing parts were but there should have been 1 pound coffee cans full of the little packs.

Probably a dream on cheap consumables.

If you look at a lot of the Chinese consumable repair parts they're excessively cheap. For example, you can get a cheap carb, fuel lines, filters, etc etc for $13.15 shipped of eBay. Domestic shipping is around $6 of that total retail.

Who is opening a rubber factory, a carb factory, a gasket factory and an air filter factory in the US for a nominal ($.30+-) Federal Tariff (Sales Tax)?

Sorry, but if we peel back one layer of the onion it's rather clear it's a way for the federal system to generate more revenue while packaging in a way (nationalism) that people can swallow, with ease, and possibly even ask for some more.

Surely though, things are different now and these taxes will be used for the right applications 🙄🙄, because government has so responsibly used our tax dollars in the past and the public has so readily accepted higher prices on foreign or domestic goods. Afterall, prices (notably higher ones) were a major topic in our last election, with most people seemingly in favor of lower prices.
Yes, maybe we have gone to far with outsourcing everything over seas and its not practical or affordable to bring the manufacturing back. I hope we can get some of it going again in the states, finding people to work those jobs might be the biggest factor at this point.

Fellers let’s keep the conversation to the chain and ope please and thank you! Everyone agreed to leave the politics and religion at the door when they signed up here. This is an outdoor power equipment forum there’s no place for those types of disagreements here.
