I think i only have one my 026 all the rest have been off for mods , How many saws and how old are they do you have that have never had the jug removed since new ?

I have never had the cylinder off of my 026 as well, always starts and runs well so never saw the need. All of my other saws have been pieced together out of the junk pile so cylinders were off for inspection/ring at a minimum.

I bought my Alpina 700Prof new in about '94. Never had the jug off. Rebuilt the carb once. Gave it a detail cleaning when I replaced the recoil.C__Data_Users_DefApps_AppData_INTERNETEXPLORER_Temp_Saved Images_WP_20160106_002.jpg

If you were wondering what one looks like.

I have one,the p61 western that my grandpa bought new in the late 70's. I have no reason to take it apart it still runs like new, and has 155psi. The carb has been rebuilt once, and I just put a new clutch on it not long ago.

I have 1. The first saw I was ever given still sits unmolested. It a 42cc crapsman that I'd rather not run. Last time I used it, it was pretty hard to start so I figured it needed work. Not worth my time, so it sits. Here's an old pic.

After thinking about it, the jug has never been off "Da Loaner" either, or any of the Homies (though the jug is going to come off of the 540 soon for inspection/measurement) or the 306A, or the Mac, or my KS 262, man, I am really a slacker!

I haven't been into Fook Me (the DD 361 clone) yet, my Husky 51 that I bought new in '93, an 026, and an 024. Edit* and an 028

The 51 has never had a part replaced on it, not even a fuel line. Junk gas and oil, I guess

I have my Dad's Stihl 028 he bought new in about 1980. It has never had the jug off and it has done a lot of cutting. It was used for firewood cutting for about 20 years until it wouldn't run anymore. It sat under the bench until I got intrested in repairing chainsaws. Figured out is was the ignition, replaced the points/coil with electronic coil and runs it again. One of my favorite saws to run.

The only saw I own that has not had the jug off is a minty 365 that i picked up a while back....
Most (all) of my saws have been acquired as "dead, blown up or junk" from dealers in my area...
Have picked up a few "builders" here and there also...
Thinking about selling the 365... so pics will be in the for sale ads soon... :frown:
