Dad's MS261 and My 562xp. Everything else has been ported. The 261 and 562 will get their turns in due time.

I haven't had to do anything to my 60s homelite xl and 4 alpina 590i and 600i saws early stihl 261 carbed 028 dolmar 115i two echo 590s one 490 husky 288 my brother gave me. I've always run 40/1 since the early 80s seems to work fine to me. i switched to red armor when it came out.
Forgot to add all alpina coils eventually died trying to find alternatives.

Just a few PSP saws that have had really tough PSP lives. Piss revved many times in the shop without B/C, one has been photographed over 60 times, another had its builders sticker fade after its 25th polish. Totally abused one putting many new Japanese light bars on it for various pics, and tried over 15 full-synthetics oils in it too. These are not soft cookie cutters saws, their hardcore revved hard put away polished saws. One wore out a plug thread as it was compression tested 27 times in a week, a strong runner too tacking over 17k no b/c. This saw after it was built for PSP and has had a hard life I am sure its due for a rebuild ground up rebuild, just trying to find a new builder who's ready to take money. From reading others posts and running my psp's I am really qualified to answer anything chainsaw related and give advice to others. PSP aint easy ya get alot of bar oil spilled on ya pants and boots sometimes, I PSP just with my socks on.

Most of my chainsaws has been rebuild from the bottom, but have a few low hour saws or medium used saws.
Those has not needed rebuild:
JRed 2253 WH - 12
Huskies:
372 xpg - 05
246 G - 97
242 xpg - 95
H42S - 88
44 - 85
444 SG - 84
I dont have plans to get more saw projects but you never know, one of my dealers give me more projects then I can afford to rebuild.
My only plan is to port whatever I have this spring.

I'm with you redtractor, my 562 sits, probably tear into her before I Fire her for the first time
The one I'm about to get into is a Jred 2253 that someone punched a hole into the front of the oil tank after only a few tanks. Thank goodness for these forums talking about the transfer covers or i might've run it without checking. Piston is already scored. Mityvac telling me there's a leak but can't find it yet. Gonna take it to work and dunk it with regulated air. (yeah, removing all the wired bits)

when they work they are beautiful saws.
If I got it correct I think their weak spot is:
Flywheel seal&bearing
Conrod bearing
Airleak around the base due uneven crankcase halfs
Transfer seals
Intake rubber

I may have forgotten 10 other issues ;)
