Well I learned something new today! I had always assumed the 234/238/242/246 saws shared the same crankshaft.Running the 238 cylinder with a 242 crank. The crank is 3mm longer. Will have better rod ratio. It will dwell a little longer on TDC and BDC.
Also because finding a 242XP top end is more or less impossible for a sensible price.
Probably the same stroke, like the 254 versus 257 and 262. Just longer rod. Most only look at the stroke and assume it’s in the same case so it has the same crankWell I learned something new today! I had always assumed the 234/238/242/246 saws shared the same crankshaft.
AM Cylinder kit ordered, have to buy something for my own birthday... Do not have high hopes for the quality but will try to clean it up.
